Last month, 20 secondary students from Grace International School had the exciting opportunity to travel to Bangkok, Thailand, to compete in international volleyball and football matches. It was more than just a sports trip—it was an adventure full of friendship, fun, and learning!

Our students were warmly welcomed by the host school, who surprised everyone with a musical performance before the first volleyball match. It was a wonderful way to start the competition and reminded us that sport isn’t just about winning—it’s about sharing, connecting, and showing respect.

We’re proud to say that all our teams—boys and girls in both volleyball and football—won their matches. But what made us even prouder was the humility, kindness, and sportsmanship our students showed. They cheered on others, helped when someone fell, and played with joy and grace.

Students from Grace and the host school quickly became friends and are already keeping in touch on social media. There was laughter and great conversations that showed how people from different countries can find so much in common.

Exploring Thailand: Learning Beyond the Classroom

The trip wasn’t just about sports. Students also explored the amazing city of Bangkok! One day was spent at Bangkok World, where students rode rollercoasters and splashed in the water park. It was a day of fun, team bonding, and a little bit of courage, too—some students faced their fear of heights on the big rides!

They also visited the Ancient City, where they learned about Thai history, art, and culture. Walking through life-sized models of famous buildings, temples, and palaces helped students understand how rich and diverse Thailand’s culture is. It brought their classroom lessons to life!

And of course, no trip to Bangkok is complete without a visit to 7-Eleven! Students loved trying new snacks and drinks, from spicy crisps to sweet milk teas.

What Did We Learn?

This trip helped students grow in many ways:

  • They practised teamwork and leadership on and off the field.

  • They built confidence by travelling and performing internationally.

  • They learned how to connect across cultures, showing respect and making lasting friendships.

  • And they discovered that education doesn’t only happen in the classroom—it’s everywhere!

We are so proud of our students for representing Grace with excellence. We’re thankful to the teachers who chaperoned, to the host school for their hospitality, and to the parents who supported this trip.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s international adventure!
